Mar 22,  · If you've ever picked up any Atco record album from the late sixties and glanced at the color paper inner sleeve, Iron Butterfly's Ball cover was more than likely printed on it (along with 'Heavy' and 'In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida', of course)/5().

At the time, I liked it well enough to have a listen to Iron Butterfly's other albums, of which I became particularly fond of Heavy and Metamorphosis. With the upgrade to CD's in the later '80s and early '90's, I parted company with my vinyl copy of Ball and kind of relegated the album to "2nd class" status in the back of my mind/5(73).

IRON BUTTERFLY is a band that gets no respect. Iron Butterfly - Ball ( us, great 3rd album, japan SHM remastered) During the progressive music revolution in the late 60s, one of the most surprising successes was that of Iron Butterfly. The band was formed by Doug Ingle, who added Ron Bushy, Lee Dorman and briefly, Danny Weiss.
